COACH MIKE SILVA – HEAD COACH JOINS GALVESTON COLLEGE’S
WHITECAPS BASEBALL TEAM

Galveston, Texas – Galveston College Whitecaps will introduce its newest coach, Mike Silva for the 2011 – 2012 playing season. He brings along experience in coaching responsibilities NJCAA scholarship compliance, recruiting, and budget maintenance.

Coach Silva, 31, comes to Galveston from Clarendon, Texas. Previously, he was the Head Coach of the Clarendon Bulldogs. Coach Silva finished the 2011 baseball season with an overall record of 34-23.

Coach Silva is a Graduate of East Central University. He received a Master of Education in Sports Administration in 2009. Currently, Coach Silva is teaching Weight Training 1 & 2 and Sports & Athletics.

Silva expressed with confidence that the current team stands a good chance at competition. “I’m going to try and build the team up like it was in the 90’s”. Additionally, Silva believes that winning starts in the classroom. Confidence in academics reflects on the field.
