Water Pressure Restored at Most HISD Schools Impacted by Leaks in City Water System
Water pressure has been restored at the following five campuses: Madison and Carnegie Vanguard High School and Law, Caldwell and Mading elementary schools.
The four schools that continue to be affected by low water pressure are: Sterling High School, Thomas and Attucks middle schools and Frost Elementary School. This is a result of the City of Houston’s water leaks in the area
At this point, HISD classes will continue to be held as usual in these buildings. HISD has provided bottled drinking water to these schools and delivered portable toilets to each location. HISD officials are closely monitoring the air-conditioning in all schools and have dispatched waters tankers where needed to supply the cooling towers.
HISD officials continue to work closely with the City of Houston.
If the situation worsens, HISD is putting together a plan of action to relocate those students affected to nearby schools to ensure their safety and comfort. Any such actions would be immediately communicated to parents by phone.
