The Houston Fire Department responded to a report of an electrical shock in the 4000 block of S. Dairy Ashford just after 11 a.m. this morning. Several contract workers were pulling equipment up a 250 foot water tower when a wind gust caused their wire to come in contact with a live electrical wire. As a result of this contact, the water tower became energized. One individual was within a safe distance from the ground and jumped from the tower.
Four contract workers remained on top of the tower until the power company de-energized the tower. HFD Rescue teams accessed the individuals and assisted them down from the tower. All five workers were in stable condition and transported for observation to local hospitals.
