Galveston, Texas – Time crunched professionals now have the chance to participate in the Galveston Police Department’s Citizens Police Academy.  This fall the free program will be offered weekly during the lunch hour to make it convenient for working citizens.

If you are at least 18 years of age, live or work in the City of Galveston, and would like to better understand how the police department serves the community, this is your chance to find out!

Classes continue every Wednesday for the next 10 weeks

11:30AM – 1:00PM

WHERE:        Fish Tales Restaurant

The purpose of the Citizens Police Academy is to increase understanding between the Island’s citizens and the police department through education.  During the program students will be provided with information, training, and insight into the workings of the Galveston Police Department.  Courses will cover topics including police recruitment, internal affairs, criminal investigations, and narcotics and vice.
