The Texas City Independent School District Board of Trustees on Tuesday voted unanimously to adopt a budget of $52,249,234 for the 2011-2012 school year.
The budget includes $9,104,320 for payments on the school district’s bond debts. The total budget reflects a decrease in spending of 6.9 percent, or approximately $2.9 million in funding from the 2010-2011 school year.
The school board will meet on September 13 to consider adoption of the tax rate for the next year. The proposed rate is $1.2953 per $100 valuation. A total of $1.04 of the tax rate is designated for maintenance and operations of the district, with the remaining $0.2553 designated for debt service payments.
The school board voted to approve financing for a $1.5 million technology refurbishing project.
The school board voted to approve assigning funds from the Operation Fund to the Technology Refurbish Disbursement Fund.
All items were approved. All votes were unanimous with all members present. Agenda
