COLLEGE STATION – The Texas A&M University System has reached an agreement with Strategic Marketing Affiliates to establish and manage its collegiate licensing programs beginning Sept. 1. The new partnership includes nine of the A&M System’s 11 universities, all seven state agencies and the health science center.
The A&M System will utilize SMA’s brand development, protection and revenue generation services to enhance the brand recognition and expand the availability of licensed merchandise featuring the marks of the A&M System members. Revenue generated from the trademark licensing programs will support student activities, facilities and other initiatives across the A&M System.

With its affiliation with SMA, the Texas A&M System will now participate in a licensing program that oversees the use of its insignias on a variety of merchandise. Additionally, SMA will work in partnership with the A&M System to promote and protect the use of trademarks on merchandise carried by licensed vendors.

The Collegiate Licensing Company will continue to manage the licensing program for Texas A&M University, which is already recognized as one of the top-20 such programs in the country.
