The La Marque Independent School District Board of Trustees on Thursday voted 3-1, with Shirley Fanuiel opposed, to approve a Supplemental Educational Services Provider for the district.
Trustees Travis Smith and Edward Jones were not present at the time of the vote.
Supplemental Educational Services Providers offer additional services, such as tutoring or other academic enrichment activities, for disadvantaged students in public schools.
The school board voted unanimously, with Jones and Smith not present at the time of the vote, to accept donations to the district.
