Galveston Early College Collecting Donations for Bastrop County Wildfire Victims
Families affected by the devastating wildfires need clothes, toiletries, pet food, and first-aid items
GALVESTON, Texas – In conjunction with UTMB, students at Galveston Early College High School are coordinating the collection of non-perishable items for the thousands of victims of Bastrop County fires. The community is invited to bring donations to the Scott Campus (4116 Ave. N 1/2) until 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 14. Donations will be collected, sorted and delivered to a bigger distribution center in Smithville, Texas.
Items needed include:
- New pillows, pillow cases, bedding
- New underwear
- Men’s and women's toiletries
- Cell phone chargers
- Pet kennels, leashes and collars
- Pet food
- Diapers and baby formula
- Reusable bags
- Band-aids and antibiotics/ointments
Galveston Early College High School will act as a staging center for the rest of the Galveston Independent School District. The Galveston community and surrounding areas are encouraged to drop off their non-perishables during school hours between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m.
