Houston police are investigating the fatal shooting of a man at 7945 West Airport about 7:25 p.m. on Sunday.

The male victim, 26, suffered at least one gunshot wound to his torso and was pronounced dead at the scene.  His identity is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.

HPD Homicide Division Sergeant B. Williams and Officers M. Khan, R. Nunez, and I. Ulloa reported:

The victim was sitting in a garage at the above address with two other people when an unknown male approached on foot and asked for drugs.  When the victim replied he did not have any, the unknown male suspect produced a pistol and fired several times at the victim.  The victim ran down the driveway before collapsing.

The suspect then fled the scene.  He is described only as a black male, approximately 20 years old, about 5 feet 9 inches tall and weighing about 150 pounds.  He was last seen wearing a gray T-shirt, green shorts and a black hat.

Anyone with information on this case or the whereabouts of the suspect is urged to contact the HPD Homicide Division at 713-308-3600 or Crime Stoppers at 713-222-TIPS.
