Pearland City Council on Monday voted unanimously to award a $146,534 contract to Pate Engineers, Inc. for engineering design services associated with the Twin Creek Regional Lift Station Project.
“The Twin Creek Regional Lift Station and associated gravity sewer and force main to serve the Twin Creek Subdivision is part of the 2011-2015 Capital Improvement Plan program,” City Manager Bill Eisen said. “Construction of the Twin Creek Regional Lift Station will replace the aged Twin Creek Waste Water Treatment Plant influent lift station and eliminate the Twin Woods and Glastonbury lift stations.”
The current cost estimate for construction of the project is $1,967,900, including a 15 percent contingency. The project includes construction of the lift station at Woodthrush Drive, the installation of 3,300 linear feet of gravity sewer, and 1,200 feet of force main.
The city council voted unanimously to authorize an expenditure of $66,594 for the purchase of equipment to bring a recently-purchased fire pumper truck to service-ready status.
The equipment includes rescue equipment, thermal imaging, and various hoses, as well as other miscellaneous equipment, which will be purchased from Metro Fire Apparatus Specialists, Inc.
The city council voted unanimously to authorize the expenditure of $265,125 for the purchase of 12 Crown Victoria model cars and one Chevrolet Tahoe vehicle for use by the Pearland Police Department. The 12 cars will be purchased from Philpott Motors, while the Tahoe will be purchased from Caldwell Country Chevrolet.
The city council postponed action regarding employee insurance benefits for stop loss, dental and administration services.
