GALVESTON COLLEGE ANNOUNCES NEW INSTRUCTOR OF ASSOCIATE DEGREE NURSING
Galveston, Texas – Galveston College welcomes its new faculty member, Jennifer Marriott. Ms. Marriot will be an Instructor for the Associate Degree Nursing Program. She received her Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing from Saint Francis Medical Center College of Nursing. She acquired her Master of Science/Family Nurse Practitioner Degree from Texas Women’s University.
Ms. Marriott, who has ten years experience as a Registered Nurse and five years experience as a Nurse Practitioner, will be teaching the Associate Degree Nursing courses for the first time this year. Associate Degree Nursing is a degree that entitles a student to be eligible to become a Registered Nurse.
The experience of teaching techniques to nursing students will allow Ms. Marriott’s students to acquire "critical thinking skills". This will further strengthen their ability to meet the medical needs of their future patients.
Before moving to Galveston, Jennifer Marriott was born in Fort Worth, Texas and was raised in Bloomington, Illinois. She moved to Clear Lake in 2006, and served as a nurse practitioner at MD Anderson Geriatrics Center for three years. She then became interested in wanting to teach nursing skills and chose Galveston College as a venture to start her new teaching career in Nursing.
