Brazoria County Commissioners Court on Tuesday voted to adopt a 2011 total property tax rate of $0.4731010 per $100 valuation.

The 2011 rate includes $0.3236170 per $100 valuation designated for General Fund expenditures, $0.0365 for the Road & Bridge Department, in addition to the $0.06 designation for the special road and bridge fund, $0.01 for the Mosquito Control District and $0.042984 for payments on the county's debts.

The county had adopted a total rate of $0.4631010 per $100 valuation in 2010.

The commissioners court voted to adopt the FY2012 Budget. The budget includes General Fund expenditures of $91,815,866, and total fund expenditures of $133,208,482. Budget

The commissioners court voted to reappoint Charlie Singletary to the Tax Abatement Review Committee.

The commissioners court voted to authorize the formation of an Animal Control Advisory Committee.

All other items were approved by majority vote. All members were present.  Agenda
