LaNan Hernandez
Malloy & Son Funeral Home

LaNan HernandezLaNan Hernandez, loving wife, mother, and grandmother, 69, of Galveston, passed away Wednesday,September 14, 2011, at UTMB.

 

She was born December 22, 1941 in Galveston, Texas.  LaNan loved people, especially children.  She worked for many years as a clerical aide in the Galveston Independent School District.  She enjoyed doing crafts and puzzles as well as working in the garden.  She especially enjoyed the time she spent with her grandchildren.  Most of all, she enjoyed hosting holiday celebrations with festive meals for her relatives.

 

LaNan is preceded in death by her parents, Eugene and Katherine Lhoste and sister, Joyce Elfstrom.

 

LaNan is survived by her loving husband, Josh R. Hernandez, Sr.; sons, Daniel Garcia, Jr., and Steven Garcia; daughters, Nanette Dickerson and Lauren Molis; stepsons, Josh Hernandez, Jr., and James Hernandez; and step daughter, Sandra Meador.  She is also survived by her sons-in-law, Jack Dickerson, Joseph Molis, and JerryDon Meador; daughter-in-law, Rebecca Hernandez; grandchildren, Trey and Jared Garcia, Tyler and Sonny Dickerson, Brenden and Caleb Garcia, Landon and Cash Molis; Joshua Hernandez, III, and Andrea Hernandez; Kirsten Meador; and Jeremy and Justin Hernandez.

 

The family will receive visitors from 5:00 until 7:00 pm, Sunday, September 18, 2011 at Malloy & Son Funeral Home.  Funeral service will be 10:00 am, Monday, September 19, 2011 at First Lutheran Church with Rev. Doug Guthier, officiating.  Burial will follow the service at Grace Memorial Park in Hitchcock, Texas.

 

Pallbearers are Trey Garcia, Jared Garcia, Tyler Dickerson, Sonny Dickerson, Brenden Garcia and Caleb Garcia.   Honorary pallbearers are Landon Molis and Cash Molis
