Around 11:46 pm, Thursday September 15, 2011, a fire at George Bush Park was reported to the Houston Fire Department (HFD).
This fire was located north of the original fire that occurred on Tuesday; however was independent of the first fire. The fire burned an estimated 27 acres. HFD responded with several engines and booster trucks and received help in fighting the fire from a few mutual aid agencies in the area.
The HFD Arson Bureau has arrested and charged Lonnie Ray Henderson W/M (DOB 12/5/1982) with impersonating a public servant, a felony charge. This individual was seen leaving the scene of the recent fire at George Bush Park and was questioned earlier today by investigators as a person of interest. Henderson continues to be a person of interest in this fire.
