TCISD Safe Sting launched to generate more Crime Stopper tips
TEXAS CITY – Texas City ISD and the Galveston County Sheriff’s School Officer Liaison program have launched TCISD Safe Sting at all Texas City ISD schools. The TCISD Safe Sting program is a campus-based version of Crime Stoppers and operates underneath the Mainland Communities Crime Stoppers. It serves all TCISD schools and facilities and is coordinated with the Galveston County Sheriff's Officer School Liaison program.
The mission of Safe Sting is to prevent and solve crime at school and at school events. Faculty, staff, students, parents and community members can submit specific tips to the Sheriff's deputies who are assigned to the District's schools. Rewards will be paid to those who provide information about crimes that have already been committed or that are planned to be committed at school or at a school event.
Tips can be submitted safely and anonymously through the TCISD Safe Sting Program.
- Submit an anonymous Internet Tip through TipSubmit at https://www.tipsubmit.com/WebTips.aspx?AgencyID=1024
- Submit an anonymous text through Text-A-Tip. Text "SAFESTING plus your message" to 274637 (CRIMES). Upon reception of a tipster's first incoming message, the system will auto-reply with a confirmation containing the texter's unique Tip Alias. To submit follow-up information, the tipster simply replies. Nothing else is needed.
If this is an urgent matter do not submit the tip alone. Dial 911 if it is an emergency. For more information about the Campus Crime Stoppers Program Safe Sting, call Deputy John Fernandez at 409-916-0825.
