Special Announcement from University of Houston Bauer College &
Greater Houston Partnership Planned for September 20

HOUSTON, TX – For a city built by entrepreneurs, it’s critical for Houston to have a leading academic program that arms innovators with the business acumen to build the Bayou City’s economy.

The Greater Houston Partnership will celebrate the nationally ranked entrepreneurship program at the University of Houston C. T. Bauer College of Business on Sept. 20 as the college makes a special announcement about the Cyvia and Melvyn Wolff Center for Entrepreneurship.

Since 2007, the Wolff Center has been included in the top two of The Princeton Review’s list of leading undergraduate entrepreneurship programs in the U.S. for Entrepreneur magazine, ranking No. 1 in 2010.

The Wolff Center’s consistent national recognition has a significant impact not only on the University of Houston and Bauer College but also on the City of Houston and the local business community. At a time when jobs are a paramount concern nationwide, the city built and bolstered by visionary entrepreneurs — including wildcatter Roy Cullen, UH business school namesake Charles T. “Ted” Bauer and real estate developer George P. Mitchell — continues to grow as UH Bauer entrepreneurship students and graduates root their businesses in Houston.

Numerous national lists of the best cities for job creation and growth released over the past year solidify Houston’s place in the United States as an economic leader, and the inclusion of UH Bauer over the past five years as one of the nation’s best places to educate entrepreneurs stands to cement Houston as the entrepreneurship capital of the country.
