Brazoria County Commissioners Court, in an emergency meeting on Monday, voted unanimously to appoint members to a grievance committee.

The committee is formed per Chapter 152.014 of the Local Government Code, which allows a county or precinct officer with a salary grievance to have that grievance heard before the committee.

County Judge Joe King was appointed as chair and non-voting member of the committee.  Elected officials appointed to the committee were Sheriff Charles Wagner, Tax Assessor-Collector Ro’Vin Garrett, Treasurer Sharon Reynolds, County Clerk Joyce Hudman, District Clerk Rhonda Barchak, and District Attorney Jeri Yenne.

An additional three candidates were chosen from grand jury nominations.  The three grand jury members will be Benjamin White of Freeport, Suzanne Muecke of Angleton and Mary Meyers of Lake Jackson.
