Nathalie Patricia KovacevichNathalie Patricia Kovacevich, 90, of Galveston, passed away surrounded by her loved ones on Monday, September 19, 2011, at her residence. 

 

Nathalie  was born January 26, 1921 in Galveston, Texas.  She was a loving wife of 56 years, mother to 3 daughters, grandmother of 4, and great grandmother of 4.

 

She is preceded in death by her parents, Naum J. and Petra Bulaich; husband, Dan P. Kovacevich; brother, Milton Bulaich and sister, Lenora Kearney.

 

Nathalie  is survived by her daughters, Rita Higgins and husband, Jack;  Diane Kovacevich and Suzanne Cagnola; grandchildren, Jack Higgins, III, and wife, Casey; Danny Higgins and wife, Misty; Mason Cagnola; Jennifer Cagnola Greer and husband, Barron; great grandchildren, Emily Higgins, Sunny Jo Higgins, Jackson Higgins and Mallory Greer; numerous nieces and nephews; and her dear friends, Mary Simpton and Mel Butts.

 

The family will receive visitors from 5:00 until 7:00 pm, with a Pomen (Memorial Service) at 7:00 pm on Wednesday, September 21, 2011 at Malloy & Son Funeral Home.

 

Funeral service will be Thursday, September 22, 2011 at 10 am at the Serbian Orthodox Church with Father Serge Veselinovich, officiating.  Burial will follow the service at the Serbian Orthodox Cemetery.

 

Pallbearers are Pat Kearney, Larry Bulaich, Norm Bulaich, Jack Higgins, III, Mason Cagnola and Danny Higgins.  Honorary pallbearers are Jack Higgins, Jr., Barron Greer, Jeff Clark, and  Raymond Rubio.

 

The family wishes to extend special thanks to the Hospice Care Team for the exceptional care they gave to Nathalie during her illness and to Pat and Donna Kearney, Patty Kovacevich, Mitch Kovavacevich, Joanne Valencia, Riley Joyce McDonald, Mary Orange, Barbara Myers and Elaine Gondesen all of whom were so thoughtful and helpful in caring for our mother over the past months.
