Hitchcock ISD Board of Trustees
by Garrett Bryce
Thursday, September 22, 2011

The Hitchcock Independent School District Board of Trustees on Tuesday voted unanimously to nominate Emery Williams for re-election to the Galveston Central Appraisal District.

The school board voted unanimously to request a waiver of class size requirements of 22 students for Kindergarten through fourth grade.

The school board discussed the creation of an education foundation for the district. No formal action was taken. However, the board asked for further information on creating a foundation and agreed one is needed.

The school board voted unanimously to approve the Cool Schools Grant Project.  The grant program, which is provided through the State Energy Conservation Office, allocates funding for air conditioning upgrades at school district.

All other items were approved by unanimous vote. All members were present. Agenda
