Julia M. Venable, 100, received her reward of eternal rest on Wednesday, September 21, 2011, at The Meridian of Galveston.
Julia was born in Clark, LA, on February 5, 1911, to Sarah Matthews and Robert Moore. She was a faithful member of Live Oak Baptist Church, where she served on the Usher board, as a Sunday School teacher, and attended BTU, Mission and Bible study. She also was a member of Treasure Island CT # 353 Heriones of Jericho and retried from UTMB Hospital. She loved to read in her spare time.
She was preceded in death by her parents; eleven siblings, and son, Robert Earl Venable.
She is survived by her devoted God daughter, Mary Ann Session; loving friends, Shirley Reagins, Felecia Jenkins, Byron Session, Morris Gadison, her Meridian family and her Live Oak church family.
Viewing will begin at 10 AM on Monday, September 26, 2011, at Live Oak Baptist Church, followed by a celebration of life service at 11:00 AM with Dr. Vernon L. Baines officiating. Burial will follow at Lakeview Cemetery.
