DA's Fugitive Apprehension Section & Extradition Unit Return 1984
Capital Murder Suspect to Harris County
Houston, Tx - Harris County District Attorney Pat Lykos has announced the return of a man wanted for a 1984 capital murder in which an auto parts store employee was robbed and murdered. Reginald Sharp, 48, was charged with the crime in 2001, but until last week, he had not been arrested for the offense.
In 1984, Sharp and two codefendants planned the robbery of T.W. Moody, bringing two revolvers into Big Leroy's Auto Parts on January 12. They intended to offer to sell Moody a television set then rob him when he reached for the cash. The plan went awry when the complainant attempted to defend himself and was shot twice.
Lykos credits the Fugitive Apprehension Section and her Extradition Unit for their hard work in returning this violent criminal to Harris County. "This is another lesson for violent felons. Don't commit crimes in Harris County-we will never quit looking for you."
Sharp appeared in the 338th District Court this morning where he is being held without bond. His next court appearance is set for October.
