College of the Mainland Board of Trustees

The College of the Mainland Board of Trustees on Monday voted unanimously to adopt a 2011 tax rate of $0.23202 per $100 valuation.

The rate reflects a $0.00187 decrease from the 2010 tax rate of $0.23389.

The college board took no action regarding the extension of COM President Michael Elam’s contract.  The item was discussed during an executive session.

The college board voted unanimously to appoint Sheena Abernathy as assistant professor of biology, Danny Bacot as assistant director of contract training, Terri Cavalier as assistant professor of nursing-medical/surgical, Lemuel Powell as range master and Victor Woods as professional trainer in welding.

The college board voted unanimously to move the October Board meeting to October 31.

The college board voted unanimously to combine the November and December meetings of the board into a single meeting, which will be held on December 14.

The college board voted unanimously to approve consulting services for the Center for the Advancement of Process Technology.  The item was discussed in executive session.

The college board met in executive session to discuss several additional items, but took no action.  
Items included consultation with legal counsel and personnel matters, as well as real estate matters.

All other items were approved by unanimous vote. All members were present.  Agenda
