Mildred Louis Fortini
Malloy & Son Funeral Home

Mildred "Billie" Louise Fortini, 86, died September 26, 2011 at her home in Galveston with her family at her side. She was born March 4, 1925 in Galveston to John and Ethel Jordan. Billie graduated from Ball High School in 1943. She worked as a dental assistant during her lifetime. She married her best friend and companion, Tony, in 1946. Billie enjoyed traveling, visiting casinos, and spending time with her family and friends. One of her favorite things to do was to laugh and play with the loves of her life, her two grandchildren, Brianna and Evan. She liked cooking and baking for her loved ones. Billie always had an open door for anyone who wanted to stop by. She always had a smile as bright as the sun on her face whenever you saw her. Billie was a member of Moody Memorial First United Methodist Church and regularly attended The Seaside Senior luncheons.

Billie was predeceased by her beloved husband, Tony Fortini , and daughter, Debbie Fortini Marr; her parents and two sisters, Sissy and Dora. She is survived by her son, Bubba, and wife, Elizabeth Fortini; grandchildren, Brianna and Evan Fortini; and numerous neices and nephews. Billie also leaves her special friends, Debbie, Lisa, and Ashleigh Cano, Chelsey Wall, and Oma Snider.

The family will receive visitors from 5:00 to 7:00 pm Friday, September 30, 2011 at Malloy & Son Funeral Home. Funeral service will be Saturday, October 1, 2011 at 10:00am at Malloy & Son Funeral Home with Rev. Bert Bagley of Moody Memorial First United Methodist Church officiating.

Pallbearers are Gary Jewell, Eddie Jones, Troy Chason, Rob Garner, Jimmy Benham, and Debbie Cano. Honorary pallbearers are Freddie Barahona and Bobby Rhode.

The family wishes to extend special thanks to Nancy Roach, Oma, Kevin & Marie Moran, Jimmy & Shirley Benham, and Ms. J. for the exceptional care they gave Billie during her illness.

Memorials in Billie’s honor may be made to the American Cancer Society, Gulf Coast Region, P. O. Box 570127, Houston, TX 77257-0127.
