UAA INVITES NEIGHBORS TO THE PARK

GALVESTON, TX – The University Area Association, in cooperation with Police and Community Partnerships, will host National Night Out, Tuesday, October 4, 6 pm until dusk, at Lindale Park, 400 Marine Drive. There is no charge to attend Neighbors Night Out and you do not have to be a member of  UAA to participate. Cold drinks will be provided and neighbors are encouraged to bring a chair and a covered dish entrée to share. Crimewatch decals will be available for UAA members at the event.

The University Area Association (UAA) is a voluntary nonprofit association of concerned residents, landowners, corporations, foundations, medical institutions, businesses, students and individuals who share a common interest in maintaining the quality and integrity of life in the University area as a viable and integral part of the City of Galveston. Membership is open to all interested parties. Residents from the far east end of the Island, west to 14th St., and south to the Gulf of Mexico, are in the UAA geographic membership area.

UAA Strives to promote safety and well-being of residents, and to improve communications with all areas of the Galveston Community that impact the neighborhood. Membership assists residents in voicing concerns of community issues, including crime, parking, property and housing code violations, storm drainage, park maintenance, street lighting, etc. In addition, monthly meetings keep members abreast of community issues and business activities that may affect them.

For more information on UAA membership call (409) 762-8641, or turn on the porch light and attend Neighbors Night Out; information will be at the park. Get to know your neighbors to help build a stronger and safer community.
