The Houston Fire Department was dispatched to a report of a Metro train derailment at Main and Capitol about 9 a.m. this morning.
Upon arrival, firefighters found that a dump truck had been hit by a Metro train. HFD has transported 14 individuals from the train and one individual from the dump truck to local hospitals for minor injuries. HFD hazardous material units contained a fuel leak from the dump truck. Approximately 24 HFD units responded to the incident which has been turned over to Metro.
