Galveston College Lecture Series: “Fracking Technology”
Galveston College’s 2011-2012 Lecture Series titled “Ten Years From Now” has announced the guest speakers for the fall session. The first guest speaker is Robert J. Traylor, Geologist. Mr. Traylor's lecture topic is titled “‘Fracking” Technology - Exploiting a New Energy Source in Texas - Economic Potential and Environmental Risk.” The lecture begins at 7 p.m. on October 19, 2011 in the Abe and Annie Seibel Wing located at 4015 Avenue Q of the Galveston College campus.
Robert J. “Bob” Traylor holds a BS in Geology from Lamar University, Beaumont, Texas. He has 40 years of combined experience in the petroleum industry as a petroleum geologist and in public service as a geological advisor. He is a licensed geoscientist in geology with Texas, a certified petroleum geologist with the American Association of Petroleum Geologists, a certified professional geologist with the American Institute of Professional Geologists. He is an active member in several other geological societies, including the Houston Geological Society and the Association of Environmental and Engineering Geologists.
