Santa Fe ISD Gala
October 22, the Santa Fe Texas Education Foundation will hold its second annual gala at Ed Pickett Hall, at Jack Brooks Park, from 6:00 to 9:00 pm. The event will include cocktails, BBQ dinner, silent auction, and a special program. Tickets are $25.00 each, and sponsorships are available. For more information contact Jodi Gidley at 409-925-9080 or visit www.sfisd.org/educationfoundation.
This year, the Foundation will honor Gladys and Raymond Haak (alumni and local winery owners), Otto Harrison (alumnus and retired engineer who lead the clean-up of the Exxon Valdez oil spill in Alaska), as well as Angie and Darnell Gwin (alumna and highly-dedicated community leaders). Additionally, the program will include remarks from the district’s superintendent, Dr. Leigh Wall, Region IV Elementary Teacher of the Year, Nicole Morales, Librarian Susan Reitmeyer, as well as DA Jack Roady and Judge Lonnie Cox. A media presentation will highlight classroom projects that were funded by the Foundation this year.
The Santa Fe Texas Education Foundation is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization that supports Santa Fe ISD. Funds raised at the gala will benefit student programs at the school district. Last year, the Foundation granted funds for new technology, software, anti-bullying materials, reading incentive programs, and fieldtrips.
