Galveston College Benefits From 17th Annual Rudy T Classic

Galveston College joined its sister institutions of higher education, Texas University A&M at Galveston and Houston Community College, for the 17th Annual Rudy T Classic Scholarship Golf Tournament on Friday, October 14, 2011 at the Galveston County Country Club.

Honorary Chairs of the event were Sophie and Rudy Tomjanovich. Tournament Chairpersons were Penny and Bill Ross. Participating institutions were headed by Dr. W. Myles Shelton, President, Galveston College; Dr. Mary S. Spangler, Chancellor, Houston Community College; RADM Robert Smith III, President and CEO; Texas A&M University at Galveston.

Steering Committee Members were Gene Binder, Jesse Brown, Lee Ellis, Joe Huff, Knute Lunde, Nancy and Don Mafrige, Helen McMillan, John Merritt, Penny and Bill Ross, Donnie St. Germain, Sarah Mason, Cathy Cashio and Kelly Zuniga.

The annual even for the last seventeen years has netted over $600, 000 in scholarships for Galveston College and comparable amounts to other institutions.
