Interfaith Caring Ministries 2011 Festival of Trees Event

League City, Texas -  Interfaith Caring Ministries is honored to announce the 18th Annual Festival of Trees (FOT) Fashion Show and Holiday Dinner, Jewels of the Season.

This year’s event will be chaired by Susan and Shawn Bailey. Susan, a realtor with RE/MAX Space Center and also a longtime supporter and advocate of ICM will join her husband Shawn, the CEO/President of AMOCO Federal Credit Union to host a spectacular event that works to alleviate the effects of poverty on citizens residing in CCISD and FISD.

This year’s festivities will be held at the beautiful South Shore Harbor Resort and Conference Center with the Fashion Show and Luncheon on November 30th, 2011 and the Holiday Dinner on December 1st, 2011. The ballroom will be lined with lit Christmas trees that are decorated and sponsored by local companies and organizations. Evening entertainment will be provided by Mickey Hobbs, The 2009 Bay Area Entertainer of the Year recipient and there will be an exclusive Live and Silent Auction at each event.

The volatility of the economic climate has presented a hardship on us all, however, the working poor are those that face the greatest struggle growing deeper and deeper in poverty. The ICM Festival of Trees event is a major source of funding for ICM’s various programs that work to combat poverty in both CCISD and FISD. Last year alone, ICM served over 1700 clients with over 8200 services. Sadly, that number is growing as lay-offs and cuts in education continue to plague the Bay Area. The support received from this event enables ICM to provide much needed funds for services that include, but are not limited to, rent and utility assistance, food assistance, free counseling, senior outreach, childcare assistance scholarships, and health outreach. These crucial services directly impact the children, families and elderly that are in need in the Bay Area
