The Hitchcock Independent School District Board of Trustees on Tuesday voted unanimously to schedule a board workshop for November 8 to begin the search for a new superintendent.
Currently, James Leroy Knapp serves as the district’s interim superintendent. Knapp was selected in March to serve as interim following the resignation of Dr. Michael Bergman.
The school board voted to name Estelle Holmes as delegate and Shirley Price as alternate to the Houston-Galveston Area Council.
The school board voted to appoint Dianne James as the board’s liaison to the Kids First Head Start Program.
The school board voted to apply to the Texas Education Agency for a low attendance day waiver.
