Kenny was born December 16, 1948, to Joe T. Sr. and Bernice Martin. A lifelong resident of Galveston, he was retired from UTMB Hospital Housekeeping Department. He enjoyed fishing and watching westerns, along with having a good time with family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Joe Turner Martin, Jr., James Thomas; sisters, Dessie Mae Thompson and Nancy Mae Allen.

He leaves behind his daughters: Kimberly Martin-Jones (Derrick) and Patricia Lott-Benton (Samuel); son: Chris Lott ( La’Shea); grandchildren: Darrien, Devin, Kadin, Kashia, and Kashia; sisters: Izetta Montique of Boston, Ruby Gosey and Virginia Martin both of Bon Weir, Bessie Rollins and Margaret Jackson  both of Galveston,  Mary Jackson (Curtis) and Aletha Martin both of Texas City; brother: Wesley Joe Martin (Virginia) of California; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Visitation will begin at 1PM on Saturday, October 22, 2011, followed by funeral service at 3:00 PM in the chapel of Fields-Johnson Family Mortuary with Rev. Chester Jackson officiating. Burial will follow in Lakeview Cemetery.
