Missouri City Set to Host 3rd Annual “Operation Thanksgiving—Stuff the Squad Car!”
Missouri City residents are invited to come out and share their generous spirit of giving again at this year’s 3rd annual “Operation Thanksgiving-Stuff the Squad Car!” on Saturday, Nov. 19 from 8 a.m. until noon in the parking lot of Public Safety Headquarters, 3849 Cartwright Rd.
Families are encouraged to take time out from stuffing their turkeys and holiday stockings to “fill at least five Missouri City police cars with canned and nonperishable food items that will assist area families in need this Thanksgiving,” said Capt. Brandon Harris. “The items will be donated to the Second Mile Mission Center, Bethel Ministry and the Fort Bend County Women’s Center, local organizations that need help during these difficult economic times.”
The first two years of the event drew widespread support from the community, yielding patrol cars and a trailer full of donations. If residents want to contribute donations in advance, they are welcome to drop them off at the Police Department Monday, Nov. 14 through Friday, Nov. 18. For more information, call Capt. Harris at 281-403-5847.
