U.S. Marine Corps Veterans Pose In Calendar

TEXAS CITY, Texas – The U.S. Marine Corps, located in Galveston, TX, dedicate their time and energy year after year with the same goal in mind for Toys for Tots: to deliver, through a shiny new toy at Christmas, a message of hope to needy youngsters that will motivate them to grow into responsible, productive, patriotic citizens and community leaders.

AMOCO Federal Credit Union gives thanks to the U.S. Marine Corps Reserves and the Toys for Tots Foundation for their contribution to our community. That’s why AMOCO was inspired to get involved with the local Toys for Tots program in 2009. In the time they’ve worked together, the credit union has collected over 1,200 new, unwrapped toys and accepted more than $500 in monetary donations! Now with the 2011 toy collection season underway, AMOCO is expanding their efforts to go above and beyond. In addition to being a Corporate Partner and an official drop-site for toy donations, this year AMOCO is partnering with local businesses and organizations to contribute more than they ever have. AMOCO is creating a tribute calendar that will feature 12 local, Veteran Marines who still play an influential role in our community today. These men are stepping up to help their fellow Marines with this project because, “once a Marine, always a Marine.”

Starting November 30, calendars will be sold at AMOCO branches, area businesses and online at www.shop.amocofcu.org.  AMOCO will also be selling calendars on November 30 at the Interfaith Caring Ministries Festival of Trees Fashion Show that will feature some of the calendar men. All proceeds from calendar sales will be donated to the Galveston County Toys for Tots program which benefits several local charities and non-profit organizations such as The Salvation Army, Gulf Coast Big Brothers Big Sisters and The Fellowship, just to name a few. Contact Interfaith Caring Ministries at 281.331.3881 to purchase event tickets. AMOCO has extended their spirit of giving to many charities and non-profit organizations throughout our community and encourages you to get involved today. Visit http://galveston-tx.toysfortots.org to learn how you can help bring happiness to thousands of Galveston County children in need. Bring a new, unwrapped toy to your neighborhood AMOCO branch through December 15, 2011.
