Today’s Football Game Between Furr and Washington High Schools Moved to Dyer Stadium

Saturday’s football game between Furr and Booker T. Washington high schools will be played at 1 p.m. at Dyer Stadium, 2020 Mangum Road.

The game was previously scheduled to be played at Barnett Stadium, but is being moved while officials continue to investigate what caused 22 Austin High School students to become ill during Friday night’s game there.

Parents of Furr and Washington students are receiving phone calls this morning alerting them to the stadium change.

The Houston Independent School District is the largest school district in Texas and the seventh-largest in the United States with 298 schools and more than 200,000 students. The 301-square-mile district is one of the largest employers in the Houston metropolitan area with nearly 30,000 employees.
