"The Maestro”

We call him The Maestro because he brought an “Ocean of Soul” to Texas Southern University.

Mr. Benjamin Butler of Texas Southern’s Music Department, recently received the 2011 Champions Legacy Award from his alma mater.

This distinguished honor is presented to individuals, who through their efforts while at the university, helped to create, foster and preserve the legacy of Tennessee State University.
