The Dickinson Independent School District Board of Trustees on Monday voted unanimously to transfer $400,000 from the General Fund for use in the district’s technology conversion project.
The project includes various upgrades and improvements to information technology items in the district. The transfer will add to the $250,000 in funding already budgeted for the project this year.
The school board voted unanimously to cast the district’s ballots in the Galveston Central Appraisal District Board of Election for Gary Jones. Jones is seeking re-election to the five-member board. Dickinson ISD carries 370 votes, based on the percentage of the county’s overall tax levy it draws. A total of 834 votes is needed to be elected to the board.
The school board voted unanimously to approve personnel items as recommended during an executive session discussion of the items.
The school board discussed, but took no action regarding the redistricting of the board’s representative districts.
All other items were approved by unanimous vote. Trustee Patty Halter was absent. Agenda
