Deputies Raid Bacliff Game Room; One Charged
Galveston County Sheriff’s deputies yesterday raided yet another location where suspected illegal gambling had been taking place.
Sheriff’s investigators went to Neptune’s Treasure, located at 4217 State Highway 146 about 3:00 PM yesterday as a result of an on-going investigation into reported illegal gaming that was taking place there. Armed with a search warrant, detectives ultimately seized 52 “8-liner” game machines and $5,336 in cash.
During this investigation, detectives developed sufficient information to obtain an indictment against Ronald George Ally, 53, of Tucker, GA, charging him with Felony Money Laundering and Engaging in Organized Criminal Activity. Ally, found on location when deputies arrived to serve the search warrant yesterday, was taken into custody and later released from the Galveston County Jail after posting $7,000 in bonds.
Detectives also searched a residence in the 4200 block of Ross St. in Bacliff in connection with this investigation, seizing $1,076 in cash as well as items related to business operations.
An investigation is continuing, with investigators considering additional charges related to the illicit gaming operation.
