Mardi Gras! Galveston Announces 2012 Official Poster Contest
Galveston Island, TX - In honor of the 101st celebration of Mardi Gras! Galveston, event organizer Yaga's Entertainment Inc., has announced the revival of the Official Poster Contest of Mardi Gras! Galveston.
Artists are invited to submit their work to Yaga’s Entertainment by Friday, Dec. 2, 2011. The winning selection will be reproduced as a commemorative poster for Mardi Gras! Galveston 2012. The winning artist will receive a $1,000 award and recognition during an exhibit on January 5, 2012, which will also display all artwork submitted for the competition.
Yaga's Entertainment will consider a variety of two-dimensional works, including: original mixed media and traditional paint media such as oil, acrylic, watercolors, pastels; drawings using pencil, ink or charcoal, or a combination of any such media. Digital work and graphic designs will also be accepted.

Any United States Citizen 18 years or older
All Submitted Artwork Must Include:
“Mardi Gras! Galveston 2012” and “101st Celebration”
Art must reflect the true spirit and revelry of Mardi Gras! Galveston
Submitted art pieces should be 18”x 24” and may be either horizontal or vertical format
Submission Process:
Work should be created and submitted on canvas, linen, panel, paper, board or a similar flat format. Two submissions allowed per artist. Submissions will be accepted Nov. 14 through Dec. 2, 2011 and should be delivered between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. to:

All pieces should include clear contact information, including name, phone number, e-mail, and a description of the media used as well as a brief (100 words or less) bio of the artist. Submission must also include a signed Official Entry Form and entry fee of $25.00.
