An Algoa woman was arrested after an early morning shooting left her husband dead.
Nara Dezzotti Wilson was taken into custody at her residence in the 4700 block of Orem Road in Algoa after Galveston County Sheriff’s deputies responded to reports of a shooting there about 12:40 this morning.
Sheriff’s dispatchers received a frantic 9-1-1 call from a woman at the residence, initially reporting her husband had been shot. Operators continued to talk to the woman, trying to calm her as they sent deputies and medical personnel. They ultimately learned the caller was apparently the one that fired the shots.
Deputies and Santa Fe Police officers arriving at the scene detained Wilson, 48, on their arrival. They also entered the residence and found her husband, David Wayne Wilson, 48, lying on the floor inside, suffering from multiple gunshot wounds.
David Wilson was pronounced dead at the scene about 1:05 AM. His body was taken to the Galveston County Medical Examiner’s Office where an autopsy is pending.
Sheriff’s investigators have been working since early this morning, reviewing evidence recovered from the scene and continuing their probe in an effort to determine events that led to the shooting.
Nara Wilson was ultimately taken to the Galveston County Jail, charged with Murder. She posted a $150,000 bond early this afternoon.
