BCP ANNOUNCES HOLIDAY PRODUCTION
“Scrooge the Musical” brings return of a tradition
Beaumont Community Players will present the quintessential holiday production, “Scrooge the Musical!” at The Betty Greenberg Center for Performing Arts, 4155 Laurel in Beaumont. The lavishly produced show is directed and choreographed by Peyton Cole Jones and will open Friday, November 25th at 7:30 PM and will play November 26, December 2, 3, 9, and 10 at 7:30 PM with matinee performances on November 26 and December 3 at 2:00 PM. Mrs. Jones previously directed “Evita” and was choreographer for “Chicago” at BCP.
This vastly entertaining and remarkably fresh life-affirming version of “A Christmas Carol” features a cast of more than sixty comprised in large part by families. “Scrooge” has become one of the most popular icons of the holiday season. This year, Dr. Bert Smith will be featured in the role. Dr. Smith was named best supporting actor at the Sallye Awards for the 2010-2011 season at BCP and has directed numerous productions for BCP and for theatre groups in Louisville, KY.
Technical Director for BCP, Jerry McMillan, and his crew have refurbished and renewed the traditional Victorian England set for the show that promises to be a sell out. Reservations may be made by calling 409-833-4664 or on line at beaumontcommunityplayers.com.
