Galveston ISD Fine Arts comes together for Festival of Lights Concert at Moody Gardens
Bands, choirs, and dance teams from across Galveston ISD to perform on multiple stages;
tickets available at Support Center and Central Middle School*
GALVESTON, Texas – GISD Fine Arts will showcase its brightest talents from across the school district as bands, choirs and dance teams are set to perform at the Festival of Lights Concert on Thursday, December 8 from 6 p.m.-8 p.m. Tickets are available for $5.95 with a portion of the proceeds going straight to funding GISD Fine Arts programs. The tickets include admission to the concert as well as the Festival of Lights pavilion.
Among the groups set to perform include band and choirs from Ball High, Galveston Early College High School, Austin Middle School, Central Middle School, Crenshaw School, the Oppe Elementary and more. Students will perform a set of holiday music for the entire family to enjoy.
“We hope that many people will come out and enjoy our student groups,” said Stephen Duncan, Director of Fine Arts at Galveston ISD. “It should be a lot of fun for both the performers and the audience. We are glad to be a part of Moody Gardens Festival of Lights.”
As one of the largest holiday celebrations in the region, Festival of Lights has become a holiday tradition for families and groups alike. Enjoy more than 1 million lights within 100 sound-enhanced animated light displays and nightly live entertainment. In addition, you can skate around on the area’s only outdoor ice skating rink, take pictures with Santa or watch holiday films in the MG 3D, 4D Special FX or Ridefilm theaters.
