The Hitchcock Independent School District Board of Trustees on Tuesday voted unanimously to approve a plan for redistricting of the board’s single member voting districts.

The school board voted unanimously to cast the district’s ballots in favor of re-electing Gary Jones to the Galveston Central Appraisal District Board of Directors.
Jones has received 370 votes from Dickinson ISD in the election, which will be combined with Hitchcock ISD’s 74 ballots, giving him 444 votes, currently. A total of 834 votes is required for a member to be elected to the board.
In addition to Jones, Walt Syers, David Moss, Victor Pierson and Emery Williams, II are on the ballot for re-election. Also on the ballot are Dan Brightwell, Evelyn Timmins and Clay Morrison.
The school board voted unanimously to approve the fingerprinting of all previously exempt employees within the district.
The school board discussed, but took no action regarding personnel matters discussed during an executive session of the board.
All other items were approved by unanimous vote. Trustee Shirley Price was absent. Agenda
