Students give blood for vampire movie tickets
Several Alvin Community College students wanted tickets to the upcoming vampire flick “Breaking Dawn” and decided to give a little of their blood to see it.
The tickets were offered to students during a blood drive at the ACC Texas Room on November 15. Student Activities Coordinator Amanda Smithson said more than 50 tickets were available for a private screening on Thursday night of the “Breaking Dawn” movie, part of the Twilight series.
Students also received a free T-shirt for giving blood.
ACC student Jessica Smith, 18, of Rosharon, said she wanted to make a donation both for the tickets and to help those who need blood.
“I’ve never donated blood,” she said. “I’ve always wanted to.”
ACC student Jennifer Eubanks, 19, of Friendswood, said she didn’t know about the movie tickets until she got to the student center.
“I was just wanting to give blood,” she said. “But if they’re going to give tickets, I’ll take them.”
The donations were collected by the Gulf Coast Regional Blood Center.
