Join the Bay Area’s own professional ballet company as they bring the holiday classic The Nutcracker to the University of Houston – Clear Lake’s Bayou Theatre December 2nd-4th and 9th-11th.  The Nutcracker tells the beloved holiday tale of Clara and her dream journey with her most treasured Christmas gift, the Nutcracker.  The night after receiving the gift, Clara sneaks down to the Christmas tree to check on the doll and falls asleep with it in her arms.
 
BAHBT is excited to announce the addition of guest artists Ms. Lorna Feijoo and Mr. Nelson Madrigal, world renowned ballet dancers, currently principals with Boston Ballet and Ms. Lorena Feijoo, sister of Lorna who is a principal with the San Francisco Ballet.  Ms. Lorna Feijoo and Mr. Nelson Madrigal will perform December 2nd -4th and Ms. Lorena Madrigal will join Mr. Madrigal December 9th-11th.

Ms. Lorna Feijóo, considered “stunning with an exceptional attention to detail” by The New York Times, joined Boston Ballet in 2003 from Cincinnati Ballet.
 
Ms. Feijoo studied at the The National Ballet School in Havana and became a principal dancer at the National Ballet of Cuba. She has performed in several International Ballet Festivals in Havana and on worldwide tours, and has won critical acclaim in leading roles of many classical and contemporary ballets.
 
Feijóo has received numerous awards, including a gold medal at both the Vignali-Danza Contest and the Positano Contest of Young Talents in Italy.
 
She has been a guest artist with The Royal Ballet, Rome Opera Ballet, La Scala and Zurich Opera Ballet, and has performed at worldwide festivals and ballet galas in Spoleto, Italy; Gala des Étoiles, Canada; Gala des Étoiles du XXI Siècle, Paris; and Japan.

Mr. Nelson Madrigal trained with Cuba's National Ballet School and joined the National Ballet of Cuba in 1994 where he was a distinguished primeros bailarines. Madrigal was a principal dancer with Cincinnati Ballet from 2002-2003 and is now a principal dancer with Boston Ballet. BAHBT is excited and honored to such esteemed artists to the Clear Lake area.

Ms. Lorena Feijoo, who will join Mr. Madrigal during the second weekend of performances (December 9th-11th), trained at the National Ballet School of Cuba. She began her career at Ballet Nacional de Cuba, and danced with Ballet of Monterrey, Royal Ballet of Flanders, and the Joffrey Ballet prior to joining San Francisco Ballet as a principal dancer in 1999.  Feijoo received the Isadora Duncan Dance Award for ensemble performance in 2003. She has guested with companies including The Royal Ballet, and has performed at numerous galas and benefits.
