HOUSTON —Retired Australian teacher, professor and author Julie Spreadbury visited University of Houston-Clear Lake graduate and undergraduate children’s literature classes stressing to the future teachers the importance of parents, teachers and children working together as partners in literacy learning. Spreadbury took the opportunity to read from several of her favorite Australian children’s books, and shared her experiences while teaching the country’s indigenous children. She is the author of “Read Me a Story: Parents, Teachers and Children as Partners in Literacy Learning.”
