The Santa Fe Independent School District Board of Trustees on Monday voted to table action regarding the casting of the district’s votes in the Galveston Central Appraisal District Board of Directors election.
Each taxing entity in the county carries a number of votes based on its tax levy. There are eight candidates for the five member board. Incumbent candidates David Moss, Gary Jones, Victor Pierson, Walt Syers and Emery Williams, II are seeking re-election, while Evelyn Timmins, Dan Brightwell and Clay Morrison are seeking election as new members.
The school board voted to approve the purchase of a chiller and air handler for the Barnett Building from Hunter and Trane.
The school board voted to approve the purchase of a Microsoft Licensing Agreement for use of Microsoft software.
The school board voted to approve co-curricular events at the 2012 Galveston County Fair and Rodeo.
