This joint effort between the Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) and the Metropolitan Transit Authority of Harris County (METRO) will bring relief to westbound US 290 commuters by providing improved access for multi-passenger vehicles exiting the barrier separated HOV lane.  The diamond lane will operate 24 hours a day/7 days a week and will be open to motorists carrying two or more passengers and will facilitate the flow of traffic to the Cypress Park and Ride lot.
