Merry Maids Spread Christmas Cheer To Salvation Army Emergency Shelter
Local business women are coming together to provide area homeless with a cleaner and brighter shelter at the Salvation Army during this winter season. Employees from the local Merry Maids cleaning service will be giving the Salvation Army Emergency Shelter a deep cleaning while collecting blankets, sheets and pillows for the shelter’s use. Beaumont residents who would like to contribute can drop their donations off at the shelter on the morning of the 17th where Merry Maid employees and Salvation Army staff will be on hand to collect it while other Merry Maid employees work on the cleaning. Merry Maids will award a 2-Hour cleaning to every 50th donation received.
Merry Maids will also be collecting items in the next couple weeks from their current clientele, who will be able to leave their gently used and new blankets, pillow and bed-sheets on their counters for merry Maids employees to collect and deliver to the Salvation Army.
“We were very excited when Merry Maids approached us about this event,” says the Salvation Army’s Michael Perez. “Not only are always in need of donations, but we have no full-time housekeeper employed at the emergency shelter right now. It is currently cleaned on a daily basis by shelter staff and program residents. They will be quite thrilled to have the shelter receive a good cleaning by ‘professionals.’”
