PEDC Announces New Director of Marketing Hire
PEARLAND, Texas — Leadership from the Pearland Economic Development Corporation is pleased to announce the hiring of Melissa Black as Director of Marketing. This position was created in response to the PEDC’s new overall brand and marketing strategy.
Black’s responsibilities include implementation and management of the PEDC marketing plan, and the design, development and direction of targeted campaigns to recruit new business to Pearland. She is responsible for all printed and electronic communication materials including the PEDC website, community and demographic information, and social media.
“We are excited to bring Melissa on board,” said Matt Buchanan, executive director of the PEDC. “I’m confident Melissa’s knowledge and experience will be a tremendous asset to the PEDC and the City of Pearland as a whole.”
Black is a graduate of the University of Houston–Clear Lake with a Bachelor of Science in business administration and a concentration in marketing. She most recently worked in client relations and business development for the University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston.
