HOUSTON — The Coast Guard is responding to a partially collapsed retaining wall at Enterprise dock 11 in the Port of Texas City, Wednesday.

Watchstanders at Marine Safety Unit Texas City received a report that a 150-foot section of the retaining wall at dock 11 had partially collapsed at 11:30 a.m. Two pipelines containing 1,000 barrels of crude oil are threatened. Crews are removing the oil at this time, and all oil is expected to be removed early this evening. A team from MSU Texas City was sent to investigate the report.

The investigation team, responders from the Texas General Land Office, representatives from Enterprise Products and a crew from T & T Marine and Salvage are on scene assisting in the response.

All operations were suspended at the facility and there were no reports of injuries or pollution due to the collapse. The Port of Texas City is open to all traffic. A Broadcast Notice to Mariners has been issued cautioning mariners to transit the waters at slow speed in the vicinity of the incident.

The cause of the collapse is under investigation.

"We are very pleased with Enterprise's proactive stance during this serious event, said Cmdr. James Robertson, commanding officer of MSU Texas City. "So far no oil or hazardous material has been discharged into the environment.  We will continue to work closely with Enterprise and all our response partners until the facility is fully operational."
